Heat Pump Maintenance

The heat pumps are recommended to be serviced at least twice a year for the summer and the winter. The heat pump has a drain pan with a weep hole in each end of the pan. The condensate collects in the pan and evaoprates to the outside. Drains can become clogged and up the weep back up and can cause damage to the building facade or unit below.

The weep holes need to be clear so that the condensate can drop freely to the ground. There is an extension that service companies can attached to the exterior of the drain pan which solves the drainage problem.

Furniture should not be arranged directly in front of the heat pump for the most efficient production of heat or air.

Extreme Weather Ahead

This weekend hurricane Joaquin is headed this way. Here are ways to prepare

- Stay indoors and resist the urge to go outside to watch as the storm develops

- Back door drains may back up into the basement if overwhelmed by the down pour

- Remove small plants that have been placed on window ledges

- Stock up on batteries - generators will provide minimal light in the stairwells

- Close and latch all windows - Close entry doors front and back, completely

- Be very careful walking to and from your car while on the property

- If trees are damaged, we will follow up after the storm passes

We thank you in advance for your patience. There may be problems and we are making every effort to plan accordingly. Should damage to the property occur, please report the matter to the Management Office 703-941-0818 and we will make perform an inspection to assess the damages as soon as possible.
